Art Deco chandelier ideal for a low ceiling 66cm drop (26”). Elegant shape for living, small dining or bedroom. Vintage French 1930s.
Pressed glass shades are by DEGUE model reference n° 506 in a vintage catalogue “pâquerettes” model (daisies); this model is never signed. Popular and stylish model often used by P. GILLES in his lights. Graceful proportions and shape; beautiful when lit. No chips or cracks.
Superb nickel plated bronze and brass fixture. Elegant design typical of the early 1930s, which I consider the best style phase of the French Art Deco period. The tight vertical orientation of the rods capped on each end by elegant ribbed cast bronze elements is pure early 1930s grace. Nickel plating in very good condition.
