Art Deco chandelier in 1920s French design, glass shades by DEGUE, vintage original France Item ref 2702A
Chandelier exemplifying 1920s French Art Deco in terms of its design and craftsmanship. It will grace a dining room, office, entry or living room.
The frosted white pressed glass shades are confirmed in vintage documentation to be by DEGUE as modèle 506 for the obus and the tulip shade. The same model number confirms they are a set. Paul GILLES often used this model on his own lighting. As DEGUE produced this model for various lighting producers they are never signed. The glass is thick and the floral motifs are beautiful and in deep relief. No chips or cracks.
The bronze fixture is in French 1920s design style with an elaborate ceiling cup casting, Art Deco details and grooves in the rods. The shape the fixture provides an elegant sophisticated look in its location. the fixture is signed but I do not know the signature.
Furnished with new wiring for 220v or 110v.
