Impressive Art Deco pendant light with an important bronze and brass fixture. Mottled glass is signed NOVERDY France in a stunning blend of blue, grey, rose, green and orange tinted glass. As the pictures show the colours blend to make a unique and beautiful light. This is an early period 1920s production because of the large 40cm diameter (16”), thick glass and edge that is rolled inwards hiding the sockets and bulbs. The bronze ceiling cup has special craftsmanship in its shape, design and quality casting. The brass chains are individual links also in fine craftsmanship. Collectible antique France 1920s.
NOVERDY is the trade name created by contracting “Nouvelles Verreries de Dijon” (new glass factory of Dijon). Established by Réné DROUHOT and run by his son Felix Jean and son in law Ernest RIVOIRE. They designed and produced quality Art Deco lighting manufacturing both the bronze fixtures and the glass.
