R. Massin / Cherrier et Besnus / P. Maynadier Art Deco lamp. Classic 1920s shape and design. Vintage antique collectible, France 1920s.
Stunning pressed glass shade. My colleagues that are knowledgeable attribute it to a design by Pierre MAYNADIER (not signed). Beautiful lit. No chips or cracks.
Exceptional bronze base with elegant floral details in the casting. Stamped 567 R.M. 1 signature of René MASSIN a renown bronze fabricator and designer in Paris. In 1926 he sold his company to Messrs E. CHERRIER et BERNUS who continued producing his work with the RM foundry stamp. MASSIN was known for the high copper content of his bronze castings that resulted in a sophisticated reddish tint to his bronze as is evident in this lampbase.
