2564 R PILLET Art Deco sculpture "Spanish Dancer" bronze on marble base
Superb Art Deco sculpture of a Spanish flamenco dancer in a striking pose. Signed R PILLET; am unable to find anything on this artist but this is an exceptional example of Art Deco sculpture. Bronze patinated gold and charcoal/black; left “dans son jus” as is with its signs of age to the lacquer and patina. Consider it to be bronze as it is heavier than and does not look like spelter. Many artistic details in the work, the broad rimmed hat worn at an angle, castanets in each hand, and the frills in the skirt.
